Maya Angelou

“If you don’t like something change it, if you can’t  change it change your attitude.” Hi my name is Maya Angelou, I was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 4, 1928. During my early years I was a nightclub dancer a member of an opera named Purgy and Bess. I then became a writer. I am famous for my autobiographies and my poetry. I wrote a book called I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. I went to Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I received  a reward for my poetry from Barack  Obama on September 5, 2013. I was married twice and I had one child. I was 86 when I died.  Today teachers still use my book I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings in their classes.
