Mary Engelbreit

Hello, My name is Mary Engelbreit. I was born in St. Louis, on June 5, 1952. I’m famous for being a graphic artist and a children's book illustrator. I have also launched my own magazine. I am still living today being 64 years old. When I was in second grade I needed to wear glasses. I was so happy to be able to see the details that were in my life. After I got my glasses I decided to have a talent for art. I have very thoughtful parents, especially when I was 9 years old. When I was nine my mom had helped me make an art studio out of our linen closet. When I grew up I married Phil Delano (forever) in 1977. Phil had moved from Minnesota to go to Washington University. Me and Phil had two children named Evan, and Will. Evan had died in 2000 from a self inflicted gunshot. Me and Phil adopted a daughter named Mikayla. Me and Phil had a business for 11 years a few years ago before we shut it down. I also have a star on the St. Louis Walk of Fame. It was such an honor that day. I even have made a lot of greeting cards a few years ago. I shopped my portfolio around New York City without success. I tried again the next day and I shopped my portfolio with some success. I even began to work at a local advertising company called, Hot Buttered Graphics. I am an artist for, calendars, cards, books, and children's book.
