Edwin Hubble

Hi, my name is Edwin Hubble and I was born at Marshfield, MO on November 20, 1889. I am an American Astronomer, and a Scientist. In my early years my seven siblings and I moved to Chicago, Illinois. There I broke the Illinois state high jump record in High school. Later on in my life I received a scholarship to attend the University of Chicago in 1906. I married my beautiful wife, Grace Burke on February 26, 1924. I worked at Mount Wilson Observatory until 1942, when I left to work at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland during World War ||. For my service during the war I received the Medal of Merit. I died of cerebral thrombosis (This means a blood clot in the brain.) at San Marino, California on September 28,1953. In honor of my work NASA renamed The Large Space Telescope to The Hubble Telescope.
